Match Prediction: Sassuolo to Challenge Napoli
In my opinion, the bookmakers might be slightly underestimating Sassuolo. After securing promotion from Serie B, they’ve had an excellent pre-season and have already won their first official fixture. In contrast, Napoli’s pre-season was quite tumultuous. One only needs to recall their defeats to Arezzo and Brest, and the draw against Casertana. Even their victories were hard-fought. It’s evident that Conte is still struggling to fully implement his tactical ideas and integrate all the new signings effectively. Furthermore, the long-term injury to Lukaku represents a significant loss. While Lucca has been signed as a replacement, they are fundamentally different types of forwards. I see no compelling reasons for the current Napoli squad to confidently overcome the “green and black” side on their home turf. Therefore, I suggest backing the hosts with a “Handicap +1”.
