Everton vs West Ham: Match Prediction and Betting Analysis

Match Preview: Everton vs West Ham

The Round 6 fixture between Everton and West Ham will be held on September 29 at Goodison Park in Liverpool. Here’s our detailed prediction and betting tips, including odds and key statistics for the Everton vs West Ham clash.

Everton Team Analysis

Sean Dyche’s side suffered a 1-2 defeat to Liverpool in the Merseyside derby. This was only the team’s second loss in their last 9 league matches (5 wins, 2 draws). Notably, Everton scored at least two goals in 5 of these matches. However, the club conceded in 7 of their previous 11 games. With 7 points, the team currently sits 10th in the league table.

  • At least one team failed to score in 5 of Everton’s last 7 matches.
  • At home, the team has avoided defeat in 10 of their previous 11 league encounters (4 wins, 6 draws).
  • The club scored exactly 1 or 2 goals in 7 of their last 9 home games in this competition.

Everton Predicted Line-up (4-4-2)*

Jordan Pickford – Michael Keane, James Tarkowski, Jake O’Brien, Vitaliy Mykolenko – Idrissa Gueye, James Garner, Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – Beto Gomes, Iliman Ndiaye.

Defender Jarrad Branthwaite will miss the match due to injury.

West Ham United Team Analysis

The team suffered a 1-2 home defeat to Crystal Palace in the last round, marking their fourth loss in the current championship campaign (1 win). Notably, the Londoners conceded at least two goals in all their losing matches. West Ham has conceded a total of 13 goals, which is the worst record in the tournament. The club currently occupies 19th place in the standings, but they are only one point away from the safe 17th spot.

  • At least three goals were scored in 7 of West Ham’s previous matches.
  • The team has not drawn in seven consecutive away matches in the (3 wins, 4 losses).
  • The Londoners have scored in 5 of their last 6 away league fixtures.

West Ham United Predicted Line-up (3-4-3)*

Alphonse Areola – Max Kilman, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Kyle Walker-Peters – James Ward-Prowse, El-Hadji Malick Diouf, Lucas Paqueta, Matheus Fernandes – Jarrod Bowen, Crysencio Summerville, Callum Wilson.

Midfielder Tomas Soucek will miss the match due to suspension. On September 27, Graham Potter was dismissed from his position as West Ham’s head coach.

Everton vs West Ham Match Prediction

Everton has suffered both of their current league defeats away from home. On their own turf, the Toffees consistently pick up points, having avoided defeat in 10 of their last 11 home league matches (4 wins, 6 draws). Furthermore, the team demonstrates good scoring ability: the Liverpudlians have scored in 9 of their previous 11 home games, with the club netting at least twice in 7 of those instances. However, it’s worth noting that Everton also allows opponents opportunities at their end, conceding in 9 of their last 14 home fixtures in this competition.

The Londoners, West Ham, face even more defensive issues. The Hammers have already suffered three heavy defeats in the 2025/26 campaign, and the team has kept just one clean sheet in their last seven matches overall. Over this period, the club has endured 5 losses. West Ham also has a poor record against Everton, having failed to win against them in 4 of their last 5 head-to-head league clashes. However, the visitors are certainly capable of finding the net against their opponents.

My prediction is – “Everton not to lose and Total Goals Over 1.5” with odds of 1.60

On Tuesday, Everton lost 0-2 to outsider Wolverhampton in the third round of the League Cup. How does one mentally prepare for such an event just three days after a Merseyside derby (1-2)? West Ham, on the other hand, did not play midweek, having been eliminated by Wolves earlier. Will this advantage help them?

Unlikely. Even a simple win for the “Hammers” is priced around 4.50, and with a (-1) handicap, it’s close to “ten”. Everton is not a clear favorite, but the odds for a straight win are still below two. At their new stadium, Goodison Park (previously Hill Dickinson), they haven’t conceded a goal yet, although they also failed to score against one opponent, Aston Villa. A clear dependence on goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is evident: an average of 1.0 goal conceded per game, and in four out of six matches across all competitions, the total goals were under 2.5.

West Ham, however, seems to have forgotten what a “low-scoring” match is. This season, across six matches, they haven’t seen a total goals under 2.5. On the other hand, it’s easy to see that the “Irons” are currently not capable of scoring many goals – their individual total goals under 1.5 occurred in four instances. Four opponents have scored three or more against them. Graham Potter is currently being tolerated, but if they continue to lose to equally matched teams – and the London office likely considers “the Toffees” as such – then a dismissal might not be far off.

Nevertheless, I believe that even the understanding that they need to climb the table won’t save West Ham from an away defeat. Nor will a few extra days of preparation. Everton will win, even if by a narrow margin.
