Estrela da Amadora secured an impressive 3-2 victory away against Famalicão this Saturday, in a match marked by numerous lead changes. The Tricolores successfully overcame Famalicão`s perceived favoritism heading into the fixture.
Famalicão, starting the day in 6th place, opened the scoring quickly in the 8th minute thanks to an unfortunate own goal by Luan Patrick. However, just two minutes later, Kikas responded, leveling the score for Estrela, who entered the match in 14th place.
In a frenetic start to the game, Estrela managed to take the lead in the 24th minute through Jovane Cabral. But Famalicão immediately struck back in the 27th minute when Sorriso made it 2-2, the score remaining tied at halftime.
After four goals in the first half, the second half produced only one: Jovane Cabral scored his decisive second goal of the match in the 54th minute, securing the crucial victory for Estrela da Amadora.
With this triumph, the Tricolores reach 18 points, temporarily jumping to 9th place in the table. Famalicão remains on 23 points and risks being overtaken by Moreirense and Vitória de Guimarães.
