The regional Sardinian press highlighted Cagliari`s impressive performance with a catchy headline focusing on the match-winner: “Cagliari, Turkish Affairs.” The Rossoblu managed to capture an important away victory in Turin, staging a successful comeback after initially falling behind. Torino took the lead through Vlasic, but the Sardinians quickly leveled the score thanks to Prati. The winning goal came from center-forward Kilicsoy, whose spectacular strike sealed the three points.
In the post-match interview, coach Pisacane reflected on his players` effort, looking past the difficulties caused by numerous absences in the squad. He stressed that had the result been different, player unavailability would not have served as an excuse.
