Young defender Riyad Idrissi is making a significant impact at Cagliari. After a loan spell at Modena, Cagliari brought him back, and he recently repaid their faith by scoring a crucial goal against Hellas Verona. His former coach at Modena, Pierpaolo Bisoli, who also previously managed Cagliari, shared his admiration for Idrissi. Bisoli highlighted Idrissi`s understanding of his own capabilities and limitations, describing him as an incredibly hardworking player dedicated to continuous improvement. “He would always stay with me after training to practice crosses, eager to learn and get better every day,” Bisoli recounted.
When asked about Idrissi`s future prospects, Bisoli confidently stated, “He has the potential to be a key player in Serie A. It`s a blessing for a coach to have a footballer who is so keen to improve and aware of both his strengths and weaknesses. His presence in Serie A doesn`t surprise me at all.”
Turning his attention to Cagliari, Bisoli expressed confidence in the team`s coach: “Pisacane knows exactly what needs to be done. And when a coach possesses that clarity, it`s already a huge advantage. Furthermore, he`s cultivated a strong team spirit, which is often more valuable than having a few exceptionally talented individual players. Giulini made the right call.”
Commenting on the Serie B season, Bisoli observed, “Serie B always holds surprises; every match presents its own challenges. The league is already quite stratified, with teams emerging as contenders for promotion and others battling relegation. Monza, Venezia, Palermo, and Modena will be fighting for a spot in Serie A, while Cesena and Frosinone will be vying for the top-tier positions just below them.”
